Traffic Counts

In addition to staying up to date on travel trends, the North Florida TPO compiles traffic counts from individual counties and the Florida Department of Transportation. Please download the documents to the right for traffic counts showing average Monday through Friday 24-hour volumes, known as "average annual daily traffic counts" (AADT).

Disclaimer: The North Florida TPO makes every effort to provide the traffic counts as accurate information. Since the numbers are re-keyed for our web site, please verify with the respective county that they are correct since you may base certain assumptions or outcomes on these numbers.

Traffic Count FAQ's
Please read before you call to obtain more information on traffic counts.

1. Do you have a traffic count map location? The North Florida TPO does not have a traffic count location map for local road traffic counts. FDOT posts a state road traffic count location map on their webpage.

2. I can't find a location. The database is in alphanumerical order. Each county has two (2) lists: local roads and state roads. If you can't find the information on any of the lists there may be no traffic count for that location. You can call the county or FDOT at the phone numbers provided below to verify.

3. Do you have an hour-by-hour report for this location? The North Florida TPO receives only total traffic counts from the counties and FDOT. For additional information regarding hour-by-hour reports contact the county or FDOT at the phone numbers below.

4. When are traffic counts made available? The North Florida TPO receives the traffic count information from Duval, Clay, St Johns and Nassau Counties and FDOT. FDOT traffic counts (state road traffic counts) are usually available by spring or early summer of the following year. For example, 2007 state traffic counts should be available spring or early summer 2008. Local traffic counts are usually available during summer or early fall of the calendar year.

5. Do you have road link status report information? The North Florida TPO does not have road link status information. Please call the individual counties to inquire about this report. You can obtain an updated Duval County road link status report by visiting the City of Jacksonville webpage.
