The North Florida Clean Cities Coalition is working to bring more viable alternative fuels and energy-efficient vehicles to our region. This non-profit organization serves business, government and non-profit agencies in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns counties. The Coalition advocates using alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies to achieve a triad of missions: Reduce dependence on imported petroleum. Develop regional economic opportunities. Improve air quality.
The idea of alternative fuels isn’t new. Ethanol, biodiesel and electricity have been around for years. But they weren’t cost-effective or practical for many applications. Now with concerns of national security, with increased environmental regulation, and with the presence of government funding and incentives, conversion to alternative fuels and vehicles is more than a good idea. It is a realistic choice with measurable benefits. You can actually save money. Reduce emissions. And support our region’s economy.
Let’s work together to become clean and green!
